From Daily Mail: Now for the first time in their 75 year history specially designed underpants for the nation's three million left handed men are going on sale.
Leading underwear brand Hom, owned by Triumph, have created the new style of pants, which features a horizontal slit on the top of the gusset, rather than a vertical slit on the right.
This is meant to make things more accessible, easier and quicker for left handed men when visiting the loo. Designers somewhat comically claim it can save users 'three valuable seconds'.
'Almost 10 per cent of the male population are believed to be left handed. Yet men's pants have traditionally had a right handed opening from the time they were invented in 1935,' said Debenhams Head of Men's Accessories Buying, Rob Faucherand.
'As a result, left handed men have to reach much further into their pants, performing a Z shaped maneuver through two 180 degree angles before achieving the result that right handed men perform with ease.'
He added the launch of the new style of underpants was a 'step towards equality'.
